Emotional wellbeing comes when you have made peace with your past and are able to be present. Most of the time however we are filtering our current experience through past memories and events. If the past event has unresolved negative emotions attached to it, our negative feeling will trigger from something that someone says or does in our present situation. We can hold onto emotions as early as the womb and birth and these can become the basis of our perception of life.
The present moment for most is filtered through eyes of the past. For example, say your partner cheated on you. You felt devastated and heart-broken and dumped them. In an attempt to move on, you start dating quickly. You have not processed the hurt, betrayal and grief you feel and believe that by dating you will get over them. You find a new partner but every time they go out with the “boys” you fear that they are cheating on you. You start to become suspicious and untrusting. Your incorrect assumptions strain your relationship and now your new partner is feeling pressure. They distance themselves from you because of your erratic insecurities and you become even more hurt. You break up.
This is just one example of how unresolved baggage from the past can affect current life situations and relationships that have nothing to do with the original emotion. It is so important to heal our past so we are able to live fully present in our life and connect with those we love without any baggage.
Everyday can be a fresh start. In fact every moment is a fresh start. Seek a mentor and trusted professional who is able to guide you through releasing emotions from your past, finding closure, and learning to trust and open your heart again so you may give and receive love. Only then will you experience connection, unconditional love and inner peace.
Health and Healing
I am not a medical doctor or a Naturopath but have done enough of my own research in order to heal my own body to know what the main causes of dis-ease can be. Disease is simply that; dis-ease. Your body is not at ease in some way, shape or form. After healing my body from Hashimoto’s Disease I learned that healing is a holistic process and we must address what is happening physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In my opinion disease normally occurs for three simple reasons.

using The Power of the Mind to Heal the Body
There are many metaphysical books out there on self-healing; the most well-known one would be Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Body. She tells us that our repetitive negative thoughts and feelings will eventually manifest physically unless we change the way we think. Science such as Epigenetics and Quantum Physics have confirmed that our thoughts create disease in the body. The latest healing method I have trained in is called Genome Healing. This is also backed by science and medical doctors and has seen people heal in late stages of disease heal as well as organs regenerate.
How My Fear of Expression Caused An Underactive Thyroid
I had struggled to express myself most of my life. Because I felt I had a different view of the world that would be rejected if I spoke up, I held back my thoughts, ideas and feelings. From the age of 15, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and 6 years later Hashimoto’s disease. For me, healing my thyroid condition came about through learning to accept myself and my opinions and then express myself authentically and freely. I attract many clients who have issues with their thyroid or who have Hashimoto’s disease and I see the same pattern; a lack of self expression and self-love. There are deeper layers of course with everyone however the similarity between most of us has been the lack of expression. Wanting to say something but being afraid to speak our truth.
